Skewered grilled steak with beans, rice, and fried plantains
2 pers. 45 min
Ingredients:
- Beef fillet
- 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped
- ½ cup of Facundo white rice
- ½ can of Facundo red beans
- 1 green plantain
- Salt, pepper, and seasoning of your choice
- Vegetable oil
- Wooden skewers
Instructions:
Prepare the seasoning for the meat by mixing the garlic, salt, pepper, and cumin.
Cut the meat into squares.
Season the meat with the seasoning and let it rest for 30 minutes.
During that time cook the rice, heat the oil in a pot, add chopped garlic and after 2 minutes add the washed rice.
Add twice the amount of water in relation to the amount of rice.
Wait until the water boils and let the rice simmer.
Patacones:
Peel the green plantain and cut it into pieces of about 2 cm.
Heat the oil in a small pot.
Add the green plantain and let it brown on each side for 2 minutes.
Prepare a board with absorbent paper to place the green plantain pieces that are browned on each side.
Gently press them down into shape with a plate, glass, or board to flatten them.
Fry them again in the hot oil until they are golden brown.
Add salt to taste.
When the rice and patacones are ready, heat a frying pan or grill, put the pieces of meat on the skewer and cook the meat for about 4 minutes on each side. Pour the can of red beans on a plate, heat it up and add it to the rest of the meal, and voila, this recipe will never fail!
